eスポーツはゲームとメディアの世界を嵐のごとく席捲している。この4年間に、ゲームの聴衆、ストリーミング・テクノロジー、従来型メディアへの興味、eスポーツに特化した広告が著しく増えている。Sunny氏は、ゲーマー、パブリッシャー、リーグ、ブランドやスポンサー等それぞれにとってのeスポーツのメリットについて説明する。現在メジャーとなっているeスポーツのタイトル、チーム、トーナメントとリーグ、タレント・エージェンシー、配信ネットワーク、メディア、ゲーマーのソーシャル・ネットワークおよびゲーマーのツールについても紹介する。また、eスポーツ事業者やゲーム・パブリッシャーが、eスポーツ事業の拡大のために資金調達をする投資環境についても説明する。特に注目したいのは、モバイルでのeスポーツとeスポーツとバーチャルリアリティ(VR)のクロスオーバーで、これらの未来についても予測する。
eSports has taken the gaming and media world by storm. Gaming audiences, streaming technology, traditional media interest, and advertising opportunities specifically tailored for esports have all grown significantly over the past 4 years. Sunny will talk about the benefit of eSports to gamers, publishers, leagues, and brands/sponsors. This will involve a discussion of existing major esports titles, teams, tournaments & leagues, talent agencies, distribution networks, media, gamer social networks, and gamer tools. Sunny will also explain the funding environment for raising capital as an eSports enterprise or as a gaming publisher looking to expand its esports operation. Particular attention will also be focused on mobile eSports and the crossover between eSports and virtual reality, with predictions stated for the future of both.

Sunny Dhillon
Sunny Dhillon is a founder and partner at Signia Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital fund in Silicon Valley, California. His fund has previously invested in Playdom (sold to Disney), Funzio (sold to GREE), Cie Games (sold to Glu Mobile), Super Evil Mega Corp (developers of mobile MOBA, Vainglory), Phoenix Labs, and Cruise Automation (sold to General Motors). He is currently a board observer on the board of directors at mobile gaming company, Super Evil Mega Corp, at mobile content company, Riffsy, and at VR content company, 8i. Prior to becoming an investor, Sunny co-founded one of the first mobile dating apps in the iOS App Store, worked in corporate strategy for Warner Bros, focused on DC Entertainment, and was the first business development hire at a venture backed spin off of New Line Cinema. Prior to that he was a technology and media investment banker at Rothschild in London. He graduated from Oxford University (BA), the London School of Economics (MSc), and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (MBA).
