We now introduce a facial animation technology that has been successfully used with a number of SEGA in-house titles. Conventional facial capture technology has only provided reference data, and consequently has not been able to offer a realistic solution to game designs. However, our new "Drama Scanner" technology has been developed to create animation directly from the face capture data. We would like to share with you some information regarding the intricacies of facial capture from an engineering perspective.
