Message from the Organizer
GCAD Study Group of Information Processing Society of Japan has the longest history in the nation as a study group focusing on computer graphics and computer-aided design (CAD), and it will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its establishment this year. To commemorate the occasion, the Group will co-host CG Research Forum to introduce to CEDEC participants wide-ranging state-of-the-art CG technologies developed here in Japan.
In the morning, the event will feature a special lecture entitled "An Invitation to the Study of Computational Illusions" by Professor Kokichi Sugihara. Prof. Sugihara is a researcher in the area of "Exploration of Breakthroughs by Collaboration of Mathematics and Other Areas," one CREST (Core Research of Evolutional Science & Technology) area specified by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Prof. Sugihara is promoting the establishment of an academic discipline of computational illusions to study mathematical modeling of visual illusions and their practical applications.
In the afternoon, selected young researchers who have recently made outstanding research achievements will deliver three lectures featuring presentations that will be understandable for out-of-the-area non-specialists. In the final session, the members of the panel representing the video-content and gaming industries will discuss the future challenges of video technologies and other interesting topics, from their unique perspectives.
All CEDEC participants are welcome. Drop in and have a listen to our sessions.
